Northern Maine for riding with friends

Shin Pond Village has both campsites and cabins.

Our friends stayed in a cabin (it was really nice inside!!) while we camped.

The campground did not have sewer and our site had electrical issues at the post (kept tripping our surge suppressor, so I was really glad we had that!).  The owner was very nice and came right out to fix it.  It worked for a while and then started having problems again, but I’m pretty sure it was just our camper.  They just re-did the power on the other side of the road last year, from new wire in the ground all the way to the posts.

The camp store has a small restaurant in it and the food was good – much better than we expected from a campground.

They have a couple of gas pumps which is great for filling up the four wheelers before hitting the trails, and you can ride in both directions from the campground.

They even rent quads and side-by-sides there, though I have no idea the details on that.
